The Highlander likes to share a secret with you. She had always been reluctant to marry a Libyan American or Libyan Canadian because she was not sure she would be safe as unfortunately she did not think they were capable of taking care of themselves let alone of their women abroad. At least in Libya, if the worst came to happen she's home. She can go back to her father’s house, or her brothers and cousins could go beat the Libyan guy in Libya if he mistreats her. But abroad what would happen to her if her husband decides he can’t stand up for her if he is Arab-American? would it be safer then to marry a non-Arab?
