Iraq: What Arab Leaders Should Say

Iraqi blogger Lady Bird claims that the US dictates on Arab leaders what to say in their closing communique released at the end of their Summits.

    I totally agree. I mean, look at whats happening in Egypt. Do you think that the amendments made to the constitution were actually made for the good of the country? OF COURSE NOT! These amendments were made to please the Americans. Did anyone even look at these amendments before agreeing with them? Obviously not, no one would have any reason to coincide with amendments such as increasing Egyptian police authority, allowing surveillance in regards to telephone conversations, or removing the “habeus corpus” right when arresting someone. Now, if Hosni Mubarak even suspects anyone of terrorism, he can lock them up in a prison without any justification. Why? Because Hosni Mubarak wants to continue receiving money from America and if Hosni Mubarak puts on the appearance of careing about terrorism, he’s going to be given even more money by Bush. I mean, Egypt IS the 2nd highest country in the world who receives “aid” from America!
