Come on! That’s the best way to be castrist, punishing people of doing a colaborating just because of his beliefs. We have to fight violence with peace not with more violence and intolerance; it’ll never works!

come on! I think playing with someone who admires Che Guevara would bring people together!! It does not matter what people think these days, they can all play together like normal people!! I admire Gloria and I feel very leftist-oriented and that has never prevented me from listening to her. I think it is a good idea to include him in the album regardless of their political orientations!!

First of all, nobody’s getting violent, they’re just unhappy with this decision. It just a question of good taste, and until you go through what the Cuban’s in the late 50’s to early 60’s have gone through, you will nevr understand them. Che (alonhg with others) slaughtered the hopes, lives and dreams of many Cubans, my family included. He may have been a good man gone bad. It’s easy to take these events for granted in our great country, but imagine the army or the National Gaurd, under orders, come to your home in any town in any city in the USA, demanding you hand over deeds, titles and ownership of your property (homes, cars, pets, your dvd collection, whatever) to the government and leave you out in the cold. If by chance you or your family protest or disagree, you’d be thrown in jail as a political prisoner,or worse, killed guilty of crimes against the government. We as free citizens couldn’t possibly comprehend this, it would never happen here. This is what Che did for Cuba.
Still if Gloria is producing a Cuban “Tribute” (key word) Album she should consider not offending mainstream Cubans simply by listening to their request, and re-examine her culture’s history so that she may understand the request. I’d be surprised she doesn’t already. Besides, all Carlos Santana will add to this project is a couple of twanggy chords that have been hoplesly overplayed for many years now.
The real irony here, is that the evil and twisted capitalist regime of North America really has finally destryed Che. We have plastered his face on records, t-shirts, baseball caps, movie posters, coffee mugsetc., and we make lots of cheap money from it.
    Viva Capitalizm!

One more thing, this process we’re all in the middle of, the protest, as free citizems it is our right. That’s what is missing from Cuba right now, and that’s Cuban Americans are now free to exercise. Here we can agree to disagree without fear of retribution.
