Myat Thu Ya writes about his visit to Yaw region – famous for witchcraft, and finds out it was just a myth. “Many Burmese believe that people in Yaw region are masters of witchcraft very well, and they are afraid of the Yaw people. However, I believe these are all false rumors, or rural myth.”

Hi May Hnin Hpyu,
Please contact me via email.
I never knew Yaw is “famous for witchcraft.”
I only knew it as famous for its weaving.
Thanks for your blog. I am happy to see more blogs by Burmese women.

Hi,
I’ve sent the reply mail to your email listed in the above comment.
Cheers.

The Yaw people have different accent. Others may not see these simple and honest Yaw people differently. The Yaws are the same people like us. Labeling the Yaws as witchcraft people is outrageous. It is not their problem but the problem of the ones who believe the Yaw Region is the land of witchcraft. I never encounter the witchcraft when I lived in Yaw Region for years and years.
Hi All!!
I want to know more about witchcrafts. May I know your experiences more.
